SIRĀJ · The lamp
Before electricity, Cairo's lanes were read by lamplight — the sirāj, a small glass vessel cradling oil and a single flame. Sirāj revives that form: a vessel made to hold light, or scented oil, and to throw both softly against a wall.
The Piece A rounded clear body with a looped handle and a curved spout, rising to gold collars and a green finial, on a green foot. Made as an oil lamp and fragrance-oil vessel — equally at home lit, or simply standing where the light can find it.
